Sorry, just couldn’t hit ‘like’ on this one! lol I’ve seen this a couple times now floating around on the internet. I think I’ll stick with the barbecue grill and cooler…but giving credit to those that really think out of the box and use every bit of material they have at hand! Thanks so much for stopping by my place. I’m looking forward to reading more on here…especially about the gardening, since our locations are similar.

Grin … I have seen this type photo floating around for several years, I guess sense Bacteria is killed at or above 160 degrees F that it is safe, but, it’s still BBQing on /in a toilet!
This has been an odd June and July, no rain was forecast but about dark temp was 98, heat index was at 108% the wind got out of the north temp dropped to 76 within 10 minutes and it came several showers last night ending at daylight this morning dropping a very nice 1 1/2 inches of rain.

Love this, it’s totally right up my alley! Is it bad to secretly wish for my toilet to break down?
Thanks for your encouragement on a newbie’s blog 🙂

Recycle and Re-purposing are nothing more than Common Sense, using what you have on hand to get the job done.
I’m old enough that I think I was in my 30’s before I ever heard the term recycling. I think it started as a way to keep aluminum cans out of the landfill.

Gee wiz I wish I had seen this post last week. We just replaced our toilet and could have used it like this instead of giving it to my son for his house…. best 4th of July Post Ever!

Love this!! I bought in totally that it was a real thing. I am the one who has the toilet bowl in her patio filled with dirt and morning glories. It is a pot that never blows away in a wind storm. Keep up the great posts and have a wonderful July 4th.

Grin … it was posted as a summer joke, I didn’t think anyone would take this as a viable idea.

But would you really want to eat out of the toilet?

Grin… maybe it would be better used as a flower pot.

Yeah, for some dog daisies. Haha. They smell appropriately. But yes, I agree, some flowers would be better (if a person MUST put a toilet in their yard). I suppose it’s a bit of fun, whimsical. I’ve seen flowers planted in old work boots and that looked kind of cute too.

You’d think the porcelain would crack from the heat???

I would need to look it up but I think porcelain is fired at about 1800 – 2000 degrees.

I wonder if anyone has tried it?

I have never saw anyone doing this, but, I am sure at least one man during his ‘male’ bonding, beer drinking time with friends has used a similar setup.
