Human activities is causing global warning. Maybe maybe not.
Human activities is causing global cooling. Maybe maybe not.
Humans are causing droughts in China and Australia. Maybe maybe not.
Humans are causing massive flooding rains in China and Australia. Maybe maybe not.
The bottom line is that human written, recorded, documented weather history only covers about 250 years of earths many millions of years weather history.
Scientific research data would indicate that the earths temperatures have at times been ‘Much’ warmer and ‘Much’ colder than what can be documented by mans written documented weather data represents.
That does not mean humans should not be mindful of our impact on earth or natures response to our activities, nor does it mean that we should return to mans living conditions a mere Millenia or two in the past. Humans should always consider the effects of how we utilize the land, water and air to feed, cloth and house our ever growing world population.
I for one like living in my nice warm little house. Indoor toilets. Hot and cold running water.
I like the fact I need not spend much of everyday hunting or gathering nuts and berries to feed me and my family.
The need to forage for wood for cooking, heating bathing water and to keep us warm at night through the cold winter months.
Can we live comfortability using less natural resources? I think the answer is Yes we can. The real threat comes from the three or four billion people world wide just now finding that they are in the process of moving from the extremely poor into their countries middle class. In doing so they are exerting unsustainable demands on governments and available resources, both natural and renewable.
Urbanization is extracting a huge demand on what was once food producing farms, timber producing forest and wildlife habit lands. Forcing both wildlife and food producing farmers and ranchers onto ever smaller acreage.
This shift has forced those that feed us to resort to using more and more man made insecticides, herbicides, pesticides, artificially man made federalizes and to Genetically Modify plants and livestock to produce more pounds of food grains, fish and meat products per acre to feed our growing world populations.
By the end of the 21st century, mankind, I think, will not have the luxury of a single two or three person family living in 5,000 square foot homes with large lawns and gardens. Consuming thousands of gallons of water, driving ever larger fuel inefficient vehicles transporting one person to and from work or market place. It is estimated that in developed countries as much as 27% of a families purchased foods are discarded into the trash bin. This too will change overtime. Wasting food will not be a viable option by the mid late 21st century.
Smaller two and three families sharing a home will become the norm. Public and private mass transportation will be forced upon the worlds ever increasing populations reducing the total numbers of private vehicles on our over burdened traffic jammed road systems.
Whether you agree or disagree with me, this is my vision of what our world will look like in 2111.
Why is common sense so uncommon?

You are probably right, but I still want to believe the glass is 1/2 full.
